    Project:

    Tiny Shoes

    (2009)

    Client:

    Coca Cola advert

    Details:

Opening a bottle of Coke induces a feeling of happiness akin to playing a bizarre instrument made up of funky little chipmunks. At least that was the logic of the Spanish creative arm of Coca Cola. When one of the furry little fellas needed a pair of miniature New Balance kicks Coke came to Oz Studios. Working from full size shoes we created exact replicas for the toe tapping chipmunk to wear.

    Materials:

    Epoxy putty and urethane resin.

    Project:

    Floating Home

    (2012)

    Client:

    National Bank

    Details:

Should I float or should I fix? It's a dilemma facing many Kiwi home owners. To illustrate the serious decision the National Bank decided to take a light hearted approach using an actual floating house. Using a range of materials we created a scale model of a house (1:25) that was then shot against a green screen and ‘literally’ floated into an empty section. When contrasted in the advert with a real house, the difference in size was unrecognisable.

    Materials:

    MD, urethane resin and perspex.

    Project:

    Canterbury Plains

    (2012)

    Client:

    Canterbury University

    Details:

When advertising the merits of studying at Canterbury University the establishment wanted a breathtaking sunrise shot of the Canterbury Plains. The best way to capture this glorious moment was by creating a scale model of the expansive land mass. John from Oz Studios managed a six person team during the project and oversaw the construction and dressing of the model.

    Materials:

Plywood, polystyrene, ballast, model railway turf and lichens.

Scale

Need a really, really small pair of shoes? We’re talking so small that perhaps your fingers could wear them. Well if you do, you’ve come to the right place.

At Oz Studios we relish the challenge of taking objects and making them smaller, or bigger if you’re that way inclined. On this page you’ll find a selection of our projects that have involved either reducing or enlarging the scale of items.

From complete homes that are 25 times smaller than a normal home to scale models of geographical land formations that could fit inside your living room we’re ready to take care of your scale needs.
